The DOT is the primary government agency tasked to encourage, promote and develop tourism as a major socio-economic activity with the support of both the private and public sectors. In addition, it undertakes the necessary steps to ensure the safe, convenient and enjoyable stay and travel of the country's domestic and foreign tourists.
